Vincenzo G. Fiore, Ph.D.
Post Doctoral Research Associate
Dr. Vincenzo G. Fiore is a post doctoral fellow in Dr. Gu’s Lab. He develops neural models and simulates behavioral and neural data associated with decision making in mammals and action selection in insects, specifically focusing on corticostriatal loops and central complex, respectively. Vincenzo validates his models in humans relying on behavioral and fMRI data, observing selection dynamics and cognitive flexibility within nicotine addicts.
Prior to joining the Center for BrainHealth team, Vincenzo worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Neuroimaging at UCL. Dr. Fiore's research interests include non-linear dynamics of recurrent neural networks, with a particular interest in bio-constrained connectionist models of action/attention selection and decision making.
