Baron Fletcher

Baron Fletcher is a bright, energetic seventh-grader who loves sports, science, math and history. His mom Rebecca became interested in SMART as a way to improve her children’s learning abilities. “I was looking for ways to help my kids move beyond the basic test-taking and studying skills,” she says. “I wanted them to develop a higher level of thinking, assimilate information and bring together concepts.”

Rebecca enrolled Baron in SMART to help him boost his reading comprehension and writing skills. Since the training, both she and his teachers have seen marked improvement. “His participation and creativity in class have increased,” Rebecca says. “He has more to say, and his input is more outside the box.”

Knowing that your brain is working for you and not against you could be one of the biggest gifts of SMART. In a culture of overwhelming distractions, simply learning to see through the clutter is liberating. “Kids now try to learn every single fact they are given,” Rebecca says. “SMART takes a burden off them, so they are not trying to stuff too much information into their brains at one time.”
